London taxi drivers are known to have the gift of the gab. Six of them currently touring the Great Ocean Road will turn this talent for chatting into promoting Victoria. Back in the UK, they have been driving taxis decorated with the Twelve Apostles since late last year and have been chosen as ambassadors for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
They are now spending a week in Victoria touring the Great Ocean Road so they'll be able to tell their family, friends and anyone else who hops into their cab about the region first hand-and to promote the Commonwealth Games.
Mandy Torlini wife of driver Adrian, said the cabbies were just the right people to spread the word. "They drink and talk for England'"She said. "They love nothing more than to chat to everybody." Tony Hill said he'd already had interest from people travelling in his taxi and said he was enjoying his new experiences in Australia.
