And the Help Line created to find missing people like him

Missing Person Full livery taxi

A distinctive blue taxi appealing for information about missing Kevin Hicks was driven to the House of Parliament last week.

Over 20 years have passed since Kevin left his home in Sissinghurst Road, Addiscombe, to buy eggs for a cookery exam the next day. He has not been seen by anyone in his family since.

Kevin's sister Alex, along with her daughters Faye,15, and Amy,12, travelled in the cabto highlight the importance of the Runaway Helpline to the Government.

Alex, of Court Wood Lane, Addington, is hoping to encourage MPs to sign a motion that safeguards the future of the Helpline.

It was launched in May 2004 for anyone aged 17 or under who has run away. Last year it took around 57,000 calls. This service is part of the National Missing Persons Helpline.

Alex said: "If a service such as the Runaway Helpline had been available when Kevin went missing, we might not have gone through the 20 years of agony that we have"

A special T-shirt has also been designed which features a picture of Kevin and seven other missing children.

Anyone with information about Kevin should call the National Missing Persons Helpline on 0500 700 700.
